Air Traffic Occurrence in Brasilia The Air Force Command informs that it has already begun an investigation, starting with recordings of radar and communications, to determine the facts contributing to the occurrence with a TAM Airline aircraft, which was making Flight JJ3712, and a small plane, with registry PT-NYR, this Monday, May 23, at 20:48 in the Brasilia-DF airport terminal area.
A preliminary analysis indicates that the closest horizontal distance between the aircraft was 3,5 KM. This distance infringed the established minimum safety distance. It is worth emphasizing that the aircraft were not on collision course, since they were on parallel courses with a horizontal distance between them of more than 3 Km. The TAM aircraft correctly performed the safety maneuver foreseen for these situations.
